Both Williams and Logan Sargeant have been heavily penalised for their Mexico City Grand Prix qualifying incidents - with Sargent incurring a grid drop.

The US racer was pinged for overtaking Yuki Tsunoda under yellow flags in Q1 after Fernando Alonso spun.

Sargeant relayed to the stewards that he overtook because Tsunoda appeared to be going slowly and that he could see a green light panel ahead - indicating the danger was over.

However, this is did not wash with the stewards, who noted that overtaking can only occur after passing the green light panel.

For this, Sargeant was slapped with a 10 place grid penalty for the Grand Prix and received two penalty points on his super licence - taking him to six for the 12 month period.

As for Williams, it admitted to leaving a jack in the pit-lane that Tsunoda hit while leaving the AlphaTauri garage - picking up a €20,000 fine, €10,000 of which is suspended for 12 months subject to no further similar incidents.
